Craig and I are in Bequia, an island south of St Vincent. We have been sailing for a couple days, and fishing the whole way. We left the dock on the first day mid morning, tossed a trolling line out behind the boat and had a hit within 5 minutes. The fish hit it hard, and took us down to the spool immediately. The fishing was slow after that, with depths going down to well over 1000 ft.
Craig kept fishing from the boat once we were anchored for the night, and after a few misses landed a large red snapper. It went into the cooler for dinner later on. The next day, while trolling we caught a small large eye tuna, which also went into the cooler.
We are steadily learning about the ways of ocean fish, and can hopefully report back soon with more stories.
