Back To The Bahamas: The resurrection of the Andros Connection!

As many of you know, Andros Island is one of Lia and I's favorite places in the world. 2 years ago we moved the operation down south to Cargill Creek. The situation was great, but unfortunately the powers that be in the local community of fishing lodges and guides did not see it the same way. After a little extortion, a night in jail, and hiring of attorneys we decided to cool our jets on Andros and took a year off to re-coup and reorganize. During that year the government changed, and several of the people involved in prosecuting me have moved off the island, so we decided it was time to give it another shot. In October, we had a unique opportunity to host two small groups for some early season bonefishing. At that time, I met with the Superintendent of the island, and showed him the documentation I had from the previous debocle. He assured me that nothing like this would happen again, and that he would personally meet with the officers of the island to make sure that we were not harassed again.

Moving forward! We are happy to announce that we will be returning to Andros for the 2026 season. We will be back in Fresh Creek with Al, Ligar, Sammy, Dianne, and the rest of the crew that has helped us so much along the way. Back to the docks of Fresh Creek, Friday night party's in the park, and chasing tarpon through streetlights late into the night.

We will be operating out of the Brigadiers and Dream Villas. A beatiful stretch of beach just north of Fresh Creek with amazing, well appointed, cabins on the beach. The restaurant serves typical Bahamian food including fresh fish, conch, and lobster. The rooms have AC units in each bedroom, and one in the living area of each unit. We have one bedroom (2 queen beds) and two bedroom units (4 beds), each with full kitchens, comfortable beds, and large, modern bathrooms. Each unit has a porch overlooking the beach to the ocean. The dock is large and used for dining on calm evenings, night fishing, and a general hang out spot.

We will be utilizing the same guides as in the past with our main man Carlton Mackey leading the charge. We brought in some new blood to keep the old boys on their toes as well. Quentin and Draco both worked with me recently in October and they were fantastic. Along with Carlton we will see Ricardo Mackey, Greg Roberts, Mark Bastian, and Jamal Rhaming, all veteran guides on Andros.

We are planning trips for February and begining of March. We will provide equipment and flies as needed. If you are a spin fisherman, dont worry, we don't discriminate. There are many oportunities to fish with your weapon of choice. We will have pricing and availabily on the Andros page of our website very soon. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the trip please call us at the fly shop.
