GUIDED FLY FISHING TRIPS ON ANDROS ISLAND!

We’re excited to announce our return to Andros Island for the Winter 2026 season!

Below you’ll find everything you need to know about our upcoming hosted trips.

Andros continues to draw us back year after year thanks to its extraordinary fishery—stretching from expansive coastal flats and winding inshore creeks to the legendary depths of the Tongue of the Ocean. This winter, we will be based near Fresh Creek, giving guests easy access to some of the island’s most productive and diverse bonefishing waters. In addition to bonefish, there are also opportunities for tarpon and permit, as well as amazing in-shore fishing for snapper, grouper and barracuda.

Join us for an unforgettable week of chasing bonefish across pristine flats, unwinding in private beachside accommodations, and immersing yourself in the natural beauty that makes Andros so special.

Craig and Lia have been hosting trips and spending time on Andros Island for more than 10 years. Over that time, we’ve built strong relationships with the guides you’ll be fishing with, ensuring an exceptional angling experience for every guest. We will be on the island during your trip, ready to communicate your needs and preferences directly to the team running the logistical side of your adventure—so you can focus on what you came for: great fishing and enjoying the islands!

During your visit to Andros Island, you will be staying at Dream Villas, located in Davis Creek on North Andros, Bahamas. This beachfront property features six condo-style cottages, each offering ensuite bedrooms, spacious living areas, and ocean-facing porches. Perfect for families, groups of friends, or corporate retreats, the cottages provide comfort, privacy, and stunning coastal views.

A short stroll along the beach leads to the on-site restaurant and bar, where guests can unwind and enjoy appetizers served over the water—an ideal spot to relax and take in the island atmosphere.

Meals:

Breakfast and dinner are in the dining room. Dinners are prepared in Bahamanian style (fresh fish, conch, lobster) with traditional sides. The menus can be adjusted for personal preferences. Breakfast is served American style, but we are happy to arrange Bahamian breakfast for those interested in adventuring outside of the box. Lunch will be provided while guests are fishing.

Communications:

There is Wi-Fi available on property. U.S. cell phones work well on Andros too; be sure to contact your service provider to arrange an international calling plan, prior to departing the U.S.

Other Activities: Sight-fishing for bonefish is the primary target for your Bahamian guide, but they all have experience bottom-fishing for snapper, trolling for barracuda or spearfishing. The guides grew up on Andros, so they understand the variety of fish found in The Bahamas, and how to target them. Some of these activities are weather dependent, and can be arranged throughout your stay. The cottages are situated on a great ocean side beach, so don’t hesitate to take a day to lounge.

Daily Itinerary:

After arrival to Andros Island, you will be transported via private taxi to Dream Villas, about a 15 minute ride from Fresh Creek Airport. After settling in to your cottage, you can spend evening enjoying the beach and prepping for the next days fishing!

Fishing Days: Breakfast will be served between 6:30 - 7 AM. After breakfast, you will have time to prepare for your day of fishing. Guides will pick up clients around 7:30 AM, and you will generally return between 4 and 5 PM. Upon return from your day, you will be able to get ready for the evening, appetizers and dinner!

Recommended Fishing Equipment:

Bonefish - Eight-weight fast action fly rod, weight forward floating line specified for “tropic” conditions. We recommend the RIO Flats Pro.

Permit - Nine or ten-weight fast action fly rod, weight forward floating line specified for “tropic” conditions. We recommend the RIO Flats Pro.

Tarpon - Eleven or twelve-weight fast action fly rod, weight forward floating line specified for “tropic” conditions. If you can carry two different spools, an intermediate sinking line is also useful. We recommend the RIO Flats Pro.

Barracuda: Most folks will rig their permit rod with a wire leader and needlefish or popper fly. Don’t disregard catching ‘cuda on a fly rod! They are fast and aggressive, often jumping out of the water multiple times during the fight.

Spin rods: We don’t discriminate here! A medium to medium fast rod, in a travel size (3 piece) is ideal. For the reel, we recommend the Penn Battle III in the 2000 or 2500 with thirty pound braided line. Bring along some 12# or 15# fluorocarbon and you are set to go.

Travel details: Andros Island can be reached by flying into Fresh Creek (Andros Town Airport, ASD) via either Nassau, Bahamas, or by charter flights from Fort Lauderdale. Nassau to Fresh Creek flights are generally only offered twice a day. If this is your route of choice, please arrive in Nassau and have time to clear customs/immigration by 1:30 PM. The afternoon flight departs at 3:00 PM, and is offered by Le-Air. If you choose to depart from Fort Lauderdale, you can check out flight options offered by either Aztec Air or Watermakers. We can also arrange a private charter flight from Nassau for groups traveling together.

Travel documents:
U.S. citizens are required to have a valid passport that does not expire within six (6) months of trip dates. Be sure to check that your passport has at least two blank, unstamped pages. Also verify that your passport is not torn, delaminated, or damaged in any way.

Travel Insurance

We highly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance upon booking their trip. Check out IMG Travel Insurance, provided by The Global Rescue network.

Andros Island is the largest out-island in the Bahamas chain, with an area that is greater than all of the 700 other islands combined. Andros is full of small creeks and cays, connected by mangrove estuaries, and is skirted to the east by the tongue of the ocean. The tongue plunges to depths of six thousand feet, and separates Andros from Nassau. All of this water combines to provide endless fishable flats that are home to huge schools of bonefish and also permit and tarpon. The bonefish on Andros Island average in the four to five-pound range, and we often have opportunities to cast at double-digit bonefish. We are happy to welcome anglers new to saltwater fishing and seasoned saltwater anglers seeking technical fishing opportunities for large bonefish.

Rates:
All rates are based on double occupancy (2 people per room, 2 anglers per boat). Please let us know if you would like to add a different activity to your itinerary. Single angler, single rooms and non-fishing rates are available, please contact us for more information.

Cancellation Policy:

A 50% deposit is due within 14 days of your reservation. 100% Payment in full will be required 30 days PRIOR to your trip. Deposits are non-refundable. Payments will not be refunded due to cancellation. In this case, please try to find a substitute angler. Great Divide Outfitters is solely a referral and not an outfitter on international destination travel. Requests to move a scheduled trip date may be accommodated, situation dependent. Great Divide Outfitters and The Andros Connection are not responsible for any loss, damage or injury arising while traveling, fishing or practicing any other activity. Because of our, and the local Bahamian, reliance on advanced bookings we must make no exceptions to our cancellation policy. Adverse weather conditions are possible on any trip and in some situations can negatively affect fishing conditions or loss of fishing days. Refunds are not made if fishing days are lost due to adverse weather related conditions. If you are at all concerned with the possibility of a cancellation, it is strongly encouraged for you to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance can be purchased through the Montana Outfitters and Guides Association Signature Travel Insurance program.

Payment Terms:

Payment can be made by check or credit card (3% processing fee applied). Invoices will be sent to all guests via e-mail, with full payment instructions. Different payment terms will be applied for bookings received within 45 days of scheduled trip.
