Caddis and the start of run-off

The Mothers Day Hatch has returned in full force, with heavy hatches throughout the majority of the day. We have been having our best dry fly fishing in slow seams and backwaters. Start out the day with caddis larvae/nymphs underneath, and switch to dry flies in late morning as the fish begin to look up.

We expect to see the river flows to increase in the coming days, hopefully a sign of the beginning of spring run-off. Water clarity should be changing on a daily basis, feel free to give us a call for an update on current conditions. Remember water conditions can change quickly this time of year, exercise caution if you choose to wade fish along the banks of the Big Hole.

June hours are about to begin, we will be open daily at 7:30 AM until 5:30 PM beginning on Wednesday, June 1.
