Fall Colors

Big Hole 292 cfs Beaverhead 115 cfs Jefferson 700 cfs

What can I say without being repeditive of the last couple days on the Big Hole. A bit breezy and bright but the fishing was still excellent. Small mayfly’s, small nymphs, bigger dry fly’s such as a madam x in the afternoon and streamers as soon as the sun goes behind the mountain. That just about says it all and the scenery with all the yellow and golds is just about as good as it gets.

I heard a statement a few days ago from a local person who said I was running scared because of the stand I took on the river issue and this statement was not from a rancher or irrigator. I was going to try to ignore it but it just kept eating at my craw. I would like to give you a little bit of my history. Rode bulls as a teenager, volunteer Vietman Era veteran, made several jumps out of a perfectly good airplane, floated class five rapids, in the off season operate a D10 dozer in some very steep terrain, did outside collections for a bank in the five points section of Denver, (that was kinda scary). Running scared is not part of my resume. Now that I got that off my chest, I feel better already.
