Project Healing Waters

Big Hole River 343 cfs–Maidenrock- -Water temp at Melrose at 3:30pm–65

Cooler temps and rain showers are forecast for the next few days. This will be quite a relief. Yesterday it got up to 95 here in Divide. It seldom gets that hot in this country. Temps for early next week are for highs in the 70’s, great  news.

Last couple days my friend and fellow outfitter Doug  Pauline with Badfish Outfitters have been guiding a couple vets under the Project Healing Waters program. Despite the very warm weather we had fun and actually caught quite a few fish. They had a great time and so did Doug and I. When I was approached by Bob Asmuth a couple months ago who asked if I would  consider guideing these guys, I said of course I would. I figure  it was the least I can do for these guys. Bob and Holly Asmuth were kind enough to be their host and furnished lodging and meals. If asked again in the future I would not hesitate to donate my services.

I’m still getting calls regarding the Big Hole river closures. Rumors are still going around that the entire river is closed. Not true at all and the fishing is getting better and better. With these cooler temps and clouds moving in it should be great.
