Fishing Report: 5/24/21

This has been a wild spring. The river temps have been the defining factor in the fishing, which has been decent. The salmon fly hatch is shaping up to be a good one if the water does not blow out. We have been fishing our way through the rain and snow the last week with decent success. The streamers are still working well with white and yellow being the main colors. The worm bite has been coming on strong as the ground is being saturated. The stonefly nymphs as well as BWO’s have been working underneath. The dry flies have been hit and miss. If the wind is mild we have been seeing adult BWO’s and March browns getting eaten in the slower water. The river is on the rise and we expect that it will rise much more by the end of the week. The big caddis hatch has still not happened above maiden rock, but is expected to show up any day. Give us a call for an update on the fishing!
