Bright And Blue

Big Hole River 368 cfs

The past few days have been sunny and warm and the forecast for the next few days is for more of the same. These conditions have required the use of nymphs in the morning hours but dry fly fishing in the afternoons has been good with ants, beetles, baetis patterns and some hoppers. For streamer fishing wait until the sun goes down and then it’s good.

In the past few days I have had some interesting people in my boat. For example Tom Light and his brother Bud—–yup that’s right, his name is Bud Light. He said he’s heard about all the jokes a person can come up with and he rather enjoys them. Anyway they both had a great day on the river. The last couple days we guided some guys from Germany who had a super time. They were awed by the bright warm sun, the fall colors and the general clear atmosphere of this country. They were also very good fly fisherman.

My friend Linda from Andros Island also was here the past week and had a great time. She fished a little bit when we went floating but I let her row most of the time. I explained to her how much of a priveledge it was for her to row my boat down the Big Hole River and she did a good job.

There is a rumor that all the brown trout in Hebgen Lake got washed down stream and are now in the river below??????? You might want to call Dan and Nancy to get all the details.
