Big Stones & Big Rains

We all know what season it is, and everything is shaping up just right. The annual salmonfly

hatch has arrived on the Big Hole River, and the river is in terrific shape to get out and catch some fish on dry flies. Our best fishing with the big dries has been from Jerry Ck to Brownes, and we expect to see it improving with the upcoming break in the weather. While the dry fly fishing is great, don't ignore the streamer bite. We have been seeing some great fish chasing buggers out of the quiet pocket water.

Some friendly reminders:

  • Jerry Creek boat ramp is OPEN, the parking lot requires backing into parking spaces.

  • Divide remains CLOSED, but is ready for asphalt.

  • The diversion dam is at its most dangerous level, right now. Please be careful!

  • Continue to use best fish handling practices! Keep fish wet, pinch those barbs, use a net and reduce handling,

LOST ROD: Winston Boron 3X, 6# with Ross Evolution Reel. Lost around Thompsons Corner. If you happen to find it, please bring to the fly shop!
