Big Hole River 502 cfs—Maidenrock
Fishing the past week has been excellent to s ay the least. Mornings are slow if your on top water but getting close to midday things really get going. There aren’t many tricos left but the fish are after them when they do appear. Best fishing technique for the last week is, get a late start, after you have worked a riffle on top water, rip a streamer through it. Don hooked a monster brown trout in one of those riffles today. He wasn’t on long but when he rolled on the surface I couldn’t believe how big the tail was. We got at least one fish in every riffle we would swing a streamer through. I thought things would slow down about now but I’ve been busier than a two tailed cat in a room full a rockin chairs.
