The Big Hole River is at 3360 cfs and running pretty level for a change. It has been a yo yo for awhile and the fish are probably confused as hell. This morning the fishing was terrible. It was bright with a cold west wind and it was just not happening. This afternoon proved quite different as they started to look up. Activity for us with the big bugs was limited and the best action was on smaller dry’s such as caddis, mayfly’s and yellow sally’s. There are still a few salmon fly’s and golden stones around but the fish seemed not to be keying on them as much.
