Big Hole River 1450 cfs—Maidenrock
I have had several calls from people in the last month concerning the snow pack and what effect it will have on the flow in the river later this summer. Even though we are probably still below average, in the past couple weeks we have been playing catch up big time as you will see in the pics from all the snow last night. This was also heavy wet snow that sent numerous branches from cottonwood trees crashing to the ground. If there was that much snow in my yard, the high country should have been dumped on. More snow is predicted tonight and tomorrow.
The river is in great condition and nymph and streamer fishing is good. Weather conditions are forecast to remain cool so even with all this new snow the river should not spike too much.
