Big Hole River 3220 cfs, temp 59
We floated the upper, upper river today and it was a fantastic float and a beautiful day. The scenery up there at this time with the green meadows, wild flowers and snow covered peaks of the Pintlar Wilderness in the background is truly awesome. The fishing left a little to be desired but the guys were happy. Streamers worked the best for us but there were some serious time lapses between fish.
I talked to several people who were on the lower river and there were no reports of any salmon fly’s any where. Maybe there won’t be any this year!!! I’m fairly certain they will start to appear in the next few days.
If I was Maxman I would be getting very nervous about that wager.
