New Emergency Regulations released

On Friday, the MT FWP released new emergency regulations for the Big Hole, Beaverhead and Ruby Rivers. These regulations were voted on by the FWP Commission on June 8, and will be effective immediately. The emergency regulations were put in place as a response to the declining trout numbers as reported by FWP biologists over the past two to four years. You can find the news release here, and below is a quick summary of the new regulations for the Big Hole River.

Headwater to Dickie Bridge: five daily and in possession

Dickie Bridge to mouth: Closed to ALL ANGLING Oct 1 through March 30, catch and release for ALL species, no treble hooks/double hooks.

Please be sure to read over all of the new regulations, as the Beaverhead rules can be a little confusing.
