Big Hole 2300 cfs, water temp. 50, visibility 3 feet
I thought the guys on the river yesterday would have a banner day due to the conditions but they said it was tough and these guys know how to fish.
It was mostly sunny and cool this morning and I thought we would have tough going also. As it turned out we had a great day with numerous brown trout between 15 and 19 inches. We floated from Divide to Melrose and used streamers with a nymph dropper. They hit each about equal number of times. There was a good hatch of bwo’s but it only lasted about ten minutes and then the sun came back and they were gone.
I have quite a few open days for the next two weeks if any one is interested.
In the next few days I’m going to do reports about guides. I think you will find it quite interesting and humorous.
