Today I have had reports from fisherman who said they did great and others not so great. They were basically using the same fly patterns. Perhaps presentation could be the problem for some? You know it. Especially in the mornings when those big fish are sipping in the soft water your presentation is critical. If you slap the water or line em, forget it, he’s gone. If your wading, a drag free down stream drift will do the trick. Even if you don’t have the exact pattern he’s feeding on and you present it right chances are he’ll eat it. Be patient and watch the water. Read the river and think like a fish. When you start to smell like one, that’s when it all comes together.
