CADDIS

Big Hole 1270 cfs The river has stabalized after it’s sharp rise last week and then dropping about 600 cfs the last few days. This should make conditions ideal as the Mother’s Day caddis hatch started today. I walked along the river and there were just a few fish rising but that will change over the next few days. Personally I like this time more than the salmon fly hatch. No crowds, big fish sipping and some times you barely see the take, the fly just disappears. It’s a bit more finess fishing, but it’s a lot of fun. A good fly to use is a#16 peacock caddis and if that doesn’t get em put a caddis emerger on a dropper. Most important of all—have fun.
