Big Hole River 744 cfs Jefferson River 941 cfs
We had another instance today when the client said he was snagged on a log. I was looking the other way when it happened but I was puzzled by it as he was fishing with a dry fly and I couldn’t see any logs or any thing on the surface. He was about to break it off when it started moving out to the middle of the river. The log turned out to be a nice brown trout. The fly was a big attractor pattern and the fish must have sipped it with out breaking any water. We were on the lower river and it got hot in the afternoon and top water action died.
The forecast for today was supposed to be partly cloudy and we did see one little wisp of a cloud but for the most part it was so bright it hurt your eyes.
