Too Close Tarpon
Ocean Flat Bone
That photo is the average size on this one particular ocean flat. Not a lot of fish to be found there but all are fairly big. The very best thing about this flat is it is very easy wading and seldom fished.
We went in search of tarpon and permit way up the mouth of the creek. We did find a tarpon but by the time we saw him we were almost right on top of him. He was in this deeper cut and hard to see—-at least that’s our excuse.
Looks like tomorrow is another day for Hank and I to head out to the buoy to load up on dolphin. Light winds are predicted so it should be a good trip. After almost getting thrown out of the boat last year in heavy seas out there, it’s got to be light wind before I go.
