Big Hole 270 cfs Beaverhead 301 cfs
The forecast is for 70% chance of rain tonight and much cooler with a high of only 68 tomorrow. A little more water in the river would help. This time of year when I get a call from a new client the only question I ask is, how much do you weigh.
Fishing the Big Hole the last few days has been excellent. Tricos in the morning and caddis and large mayfly patterns in the afternoon. Hoppers, at least the ones I have been trying have been slow. A #18 bh brassie below an attractor fly has also been very effective. If it’s cloudy and cool tomorrow as predicted I’ll bet a chernoble ant type pattern will pick up some big fish—will let you know.
