Got the first report from Erik and his bud’s and I’m afraid it’s not a very good one. They have had two days of clouds and lots of wind which we know is not very condusive to catching dem bones. They went to Young Sound with my ole reliable island truck and Erik stuck a lemon shark. Hell going to Young Sound with the ole truck is an adventure all in it’s own. You don’t steer it down the Queens narrow hiway, you just kinda herd it. They saw lots of bones on the falling tide but they weren’t interested in much. I’ve been in that situation many times and got so frustrated I started throwing conch shells at em. He said Hank told him all their dinners and drinks the first night were on me. That’s fine with me and I’ll pay Hank next fall just after round up. I’m confident the next report will be much better with their camping trip to the Joulters.
As for here on the Big Hole the river is looking good in these parts but with lots of shelf ice. I still have not ventured out in the upper 30 degree temp. and fished. As a matter of fact I don’t even have a fishig license yet and that’s my excuse til it gets a bit warmer.
