Black Lab To The Rescue

I was watching the news today about the climbers on Mt. Hood having to be rescued and conditions were less than desirable with snow and blizzard conditions. They were finally rescued and the dog was given attribution for keeping them warm in extreme conditions. This is why you always want to have a fairly big dog with you when you are going on extreme expeditions. Can you imagine a toy poodle or such keeping you warm in that enviroment?

I was rescued at about 5:00 am this morning when I made the mistake of letting my newfy and pyrenees (Allie and Amos) into the house. At first Allie has to jump on the bed and lick me incessentaly to keep my circulation going and then Amos comes into the picture with laying his entire body over me to keep me warm. After struggling a bit from this life saving operation I managed to let them know that I was ok and they both layed down along the bed but kept one eye on me.

I guess the point is that if you are in a real dire situation these guys are the best friends you could ask for for and will stay with you until the end.
