Frustrating Weather

I don’t know who made the fish gods angry but I wish they would make peace with them. The weather for the last few days here has been absolutely horrible and the forecast for the next couple days is more of the same. Today was cloudy all day with strong east winds and it was about as cold as Montana. Given all that you can guess how the fishing was. We went to Somerset this afternoon and I saw more sharks than bonefish. Yesterday the most action I had was catching two mutton snapper by blind casting in a channel. We did catch a nice horse-eyed jack last night and almost a six foot lemon shark. It was probably best we did not hook up with the shark but we were getting desperate for any kind of action.
With this cold weather the water temp. has dropped and it’s hard to find bonefish on the flats as they have moved into deeper, warmer water.

I hope to have a better report next time but for now it is what it is.

dont’cha just love the fish gods???? I mean just look: you’re in the bahamas (or somewhere in the carribean, e.g. warm, nice..), and they won’t let you catch fish!!! meanwhile, we’re here (actually i’m in nyc at the moment), the river’s high and cloudy, and we can’t either!!
have fun, tell art to pack conch for the trip back.

  2. Sorry to hear that the weather is so lousy there. Hopefully it will turn around for you soon!
Haven’t heard how the fishing is here, but the weather has been wonderful! Really nice for “spring”!

  3. Put on a french fry fly and walk to the end of Hanks dock aproximately 10pm each night. That’s when the Big Jacks start to ‘rise’ when Spray does his kitchen scrap/chum dance.

Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures right?

Hey guys! 23 days and counting! Can’t wait. Art better be ready for team reynolds! We are coming down to show him a thing or two! Had the big horn show here in spokane this weekend! I hear dad is going over to the house this weekend. Well get some nice weather and catch some big shouldered bones! Sean

  5. Sorry to hear that the weather is so lousy for you. It’s been very nice in Divide, with 50’s & 60’s all week.
I’m sure it will change for both places, as we always seem to get a spring storm.
