Blown out

The Big Hole is still rising and is now at 3100 cfs. I drove up to look at the Wise River and it’s now running fairly high and murky as is Deep Creek. The guides who were on the river yesterday said the fishing was poor.

I just got a report on the Beaverhead from Bob Hartwell at Uncle Bob’s Outdoors, 406-683-2692 and he said the flow out of the dam was 25 cfs and 192 cfs at Barrets. The Beav. below Grasshopper Ck. is still off color but is fishable.

Blown out

The Big Hole River is temporarily out of order. When I told this certain gal about a week ago to do her special rain dance, I didn’t realize it would be that effective. It’s been raining for three days and the river has come up to 1900cfs.
As soon as it levels off and starts to recede a bit it will fish again. The Big Hole clears up fairly quickly. Even though it knocks the fishing out for a few days, every one is happy, the ranchers, fisherman, forest service etc.

The flow on the Dearborn which dumps into the Missouri just north of
Craig is an unbelievable 3500cfs this morning. The entire Missouri below Holter is only 3200cfs.

I look for the Big Hole to stabalize in the next couple days. Will keep you informed.
